Frequently Asked Questions

  • I’m here to tell the story of your wedding. I focus on highlighting the candid moments and use natural posing and movement to create story-driven films. I use a smooth, dynamic filming style for a cinematic feel and make sure that music choices are aligned with your taste and the vibe of your wedding. I would consider myself a documentary wedding filmmaker with an emphasis on candid moments.

  • My typical turnaround time is 14 weeks. However, I will always make sure you have your completed wedding video within 20 weeks.

  • I enjoy the collaboration process with photographers and always make a point to connect with your photographer, so we can both get the shots we need without getting in each other’s way.

  • Weddings are my bread and butter, and that’s all I focus on for JBrooks Films. However, I also have an outdoor recreation marketing company in which I’m the lead videographer. During the wedding off-season, I enjoy filming skiing and snowboarding.

  • Audio is just as important as the video to authentically tell the story of your wedding. In order to make sure I don’t miss any audio, I use a main source and two backups. I also carry wireless lavalier mics, discrete mic setups for brides if necessary (it rarely is), and can even record directly from the DJ's soundboard.

  • Raw footage is included in the highlight and documentary package. For all other packages, raw footage can be purchased as an add-on.

  • Drone footage is included in all packages.

  • My goal is to capture your wedding in a way that guests don’t even know you hired a videographer until they see the video. As such, I focus more on capturing authentic and candid moments rather than getting all up in your business. Rather than rigid, formal posing, I recommend natural movements to make things more relaxed. I will always check in with you to make sure you’re comfortable and enjoying your wedding day.

  • Yes, I do. All corrections or edits must be requested within two weeks of receiving your video.

  • Absolutely! You can add to your package at any point up to one year after your wedding date. The sooner you let me know, the better.

  • Travel is a huge part of my life, and I would love to go to a new place to capture your wedding.

  • Yes, I do require a meal on your wedding day. If you add a second shooter to your package, they will require a meal as well.

  • While electricity isn’t required, I do prefer to have access to outlets to recharge batteries.

  • I have weather-sealed equipment and rain gear for extra protection if the weather gets really bad, to make sure that I can still shoot your wedding.

  • Your package includes 6-10 hours of coverage on your wedding day, and all the editing afterward. If you decide to add on hours after you book, extra hours are available at $500 an hour.

  • You are allowed to cancel at any time, but your deposit is non-refundable.

  • No, your deposit is not refundable. However, my deposit is lower than the industry standard.

  • If I am still available on your new date, then it’s no problem! If I am booked, then I typically reach out to trusted associates who can shoot the wedding for me so I can edit it. If you do have to change your date, please let me know as soon as possible so I can make the necessary adjustments.

  • Yes, I am insured. I can provide proof of insurance to the venue upon request.

  • At this time, I do not offer seasonal or off-day discounts. My packages start at $3,500 and can be customized to best fit your needs and budget. If budget is your concern, please reach out and see how we can make something work. I am always flexible.
